2003 Loudon/Rockwood Scrimmage

On a day with a 50-50 chance of rain, the sky was full of footballs, not raindrops! The AA Rockwood tigers came to Dukes Field sporting one of their best teams in years. The scrimmage was played going five plays, and then down and distance until you were stopped or scored. I take my hat off to the coaches: they had an excellent game plan - "Work on our weaknesses!"

With #4 Cody Fritts still sidelined with a concusssion, #3 Brandon Dixon put the ball in the air! On the 3rd offensive series, QB Dixon threw four times and executed a draw play. #7 Chase Randolph finished the day with two receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns. All and all, Dixon was 3 of 9 for 150 yards and two td's.

The presence of the passing game opened up the running game. #33 Jake Brantley had a good day, gaining about 80 yards out of the 175 or so total rushing yards.

The Redskins, at times, seemed to loose their focus. Penalties, fumbles, or broken plays stopped good drives. #21 Cory Fritts intercepted an errant pass, giving the 'Skins three picks in two games. #80 Josh McQueen also recovered a fumble. McQueen led the team in takeaways last season. #20 Mark "P" Harrison bolted in from the twelve yard line to put the Big Red up three scores to two. The Tigers punched their final drive across to end the day three scores each.

Tuesday, August 12th the 'Skins will host the Alcoa Tornadoes.

#7 Chase Randolph hauls in a pass on his way to a 70 yard TD, providing down field blocking is #20 Mark "P" Harrison. Randolph had two receptions for 140 yards and two TD's.
