In the battle of tribal supremacy, the Sequoyah Chiefs out reded the Loudon Redskins to the tune of 35 to zip. This was the third meeting of the two teams. Loudon held a precarious two-to-nothing edge before this contest.

The Chiefs won the toss and deferred to the second half. Sequoyah kicked off, and #44 Matthew Packett returned the ball 10 yards. It was first and ten, Redskins. Loudon put together a nice drive before stalling out on the Sequoyah eleven yard line. Coach Harig sent out #15 Yoni Espinoza to attempt a twenty-eight yard field goal. The kick sailed wide left. That would be the only scoring opportunity of the game for the 'Skins. From there, #42 Jerome Felton took over, rushing for sixty yards in the first half. The 'Skins put eight men in the box to try and stop the run. Borrowing a play from Loudon's playbook, the Chiefs threw a halfback pass to #28 Brad Miller for a thirty-three yard touchdown. The Sequoyah kicker #44 Corey Arwood was excellent. He drove three of his five kick-offs into the end zone. In an exciting play, Arwood attempted a twenty-eight yard field goal; but it was blocked by #81 Adam Russell. The Chiefs picked up the live ball and threw a pass downfield that was intercepted by #33 Jake Brantley. #52 Corey Brinkley of Sequoyah intercepted a #4 Cody Fritts pass and returned it seven yards for the score. With the two-point conversion by #42 Felton, the Chiefs lead 14 to 0 at the half.

Things did not get any better for the Redskins in the second half. #42 Jerome Felton is a legitimate Division I college prospect. He posted thirteen carries for 159 yards and two td's. Bright spots for the 'Skins special teams were the blocking of two field goal attempts and the punting of #62 Marty Branum (3 for a 50.33 yard average). The Chiefs won 35 to 0.

Next week the Redskins will host the Austin-East Roadrunners. Game time is 7:30 at Dukes Field.
