Week 4, and the Etowah Knights traveled to “Bruce Wilkerson Field” to tangle with the four Loudon Quarterback Club teams. We took all four games; and did so in a convincing manner, running our total to (15) wins vs. just one (1) loss on this young season.

But the most important thing that happened was the “9-11 Commemorative Service” that was presented between the Hopper and Mustang games. The Etowah and Loudon teams (football & cheerleader) formed a wedge going from the goal posts to the sidelines in a “V” formation. The Color Guard stood at attention under the goal posts as the song “Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning” by Allen Jackson was played. Department Chaplin Mark Harvey, offered the invocation. Next, the Color Guard marched 100 yards, each step representing the life of a fallen American. The Fire and Rescue Squads members marched behind the Color Guard, and stopped at the 20 yard line. When the Color Guard reached the flag pole, Miss Jessica Plemons sang the National Anthem, as the American Flag was proudly raised. It was a moving and solemn service.

    Color Guard:
  • Bill Geams - Loudon P.D., Loudon & Philadelphia F.D.
  • Mike Brubaker - Loudon F.D. & P.D.
  • Sam Harrison - Loudon P.D.
  • David Yates - Loudon P.D.
    Fire and Rescue:
  • Terrie Waddell - Philadelphia F.D.
  • Ricky Sutton - Loudon, Philly, & L.C. Rescue Squads
  • Jimmy Russell - Loudon & Philly F.D.
