Scoring Summary
  1st 2nd 3rd 4th Final
Indians 0 0 0 0 0
Vonore 0 0 0 6 6
The Indians won the toss and deferred until the second half. The Blue Devils were extremely fired up… it showed on the field. Taking the opening kick off, Vonore marched down the field. The Devil quarterback threw up a duck, instead of it being intercepted, it nestled nicely in the receivers arms. Touchdown Vonore. With the 2-point conversion, the score is 8-0, with 3:39 left in the first quarter. #45 Jordan Purdy returned the ensuing kick off 22 yards to the 48 yard line. Nine plays didn’t reach pay dirt, and Loudon gave up the ball on downs. The Indian “D”, led by #33 Tommy Brown, #44 Caleb Giles , and #43 Aaron Lawson; forced the Blue Devils three and out. The punt returnee was #45 Jordan Purdy; he took it back 18 yards to the 46 yard line. This is the second time the Indians have started with good field position. And with the same results… failed to sustain a drive, and turned the football over on downs. Again the Indian defense held, and again the offense stalled out. That would be the half. The entire second half was an exact script of the first half; excellent swarming defense, lethargic just going through the motions offense. This was the Super Bowl of games for Vonore, if they don’t win another game; they have the satisfaction of knocking the Loudon Indians from the un-defeated ranks.

Head Coach David Matlock knew just what his team needed… a mid-week non-conference game. The Powell Panthers were our guests on Tuesday the 5th. The Crickets, Hoppers, and Mustangs practiced at the LHS practice field, clearing the way for the Indians to play on “The Hill”. With referees, concessions, and your “Voice of the Hill”; it was a great evening for football. It was just what the doctor ordered, as the team looked and played like the Indians of old. #30 Tyler Barr got out on the edge and twice burned the Panthers for +30 yard touchdown runs. The defense, which is always tough, held the visiting Panthers to one score.
