Scoring Summary
  1st 2nd 3rd 4th Final
Indians 8 0 6 0 14
Riceville 0 0 0 6 6
The Indians are playing solid football, and this game was no exception. Loudon kicked off, the defense forced a R’ville punt. First and 10 Indians, with the ball on the 36 yard line. The Big Red offense went to work, mixing in runs by #45 Jordan Purdy, #34 David Lee “The Dozer” Haskins, and #30 Tyler Barr moved the ball down field. Then quarterback #4 Zach Franklin hit wide out #81 Ryan Brennen for a 25 yard pass completion. All that hard work was for naught, as Rice recovered a fumble on their own eight yard line. The favor was returned though, when the ‘Cats fumbled the football right back after a hard tackle, #45 Purdy came up with the loose ball on the 10 yard line. From there Purdy pounded in for the touchdown. With a penalty on the conversion attempt, the ball was placed on the eight yard line. No problem for #30 Tyler Barr, as he surged into the end zone.

The second period seesawed back and forth, neither team could gain an advantage. Loudon drove down to the 30 yard line, and took several shots at the end zone using half back passes to try to draw the defensive backs up in run support. Time expired with the score eight to nothing, Indians. Rice kicked off to begin the second half. Their onsides kick did not go 10 yards, so Loudon got the ball on the 40 yard line, were it was downed. The Indians gained a first down, but stalled out on fourth down. The inspired “D” harassed, hurried, and knocked down the ‘Cat QB. #43 Aaron Lawson blocked a pass. #54 Eric Lawson, #48 Alex Lennox, and #33 Tommy Brown were the disrupters. Lawson & Lawson (Aaron and Eric) combined for a sack on fourth down to give the ball back to our offense on the Loudon 45 yard line. From there, the “O” line took over with great down field blocking; two plays were all that was needed to light up the score board. #45 Jordan Purdy for 30 yards and #34 David Lee “The Dozer” Haskins did the damage, finishing off the drive with a 25 yard gold rush (conversion attempt failed). Riceville got the short field, by recovering the onsides kick attempt. But lurking out in that defensive secondary was none other than #3 Mathew “Chew” Wallace, who picked off the errant Rice aerial and returned it 18 yards, to the 43 yard line. First and 10 Big Red! Loudon controlled the ball and clock as well, this drive went deep into the fourth stanza, before stalling out on downs. To protect our 8 point lead (Rice scored early in the 4th quarter), was our Indian defense up to the challenge? You bet! The attack was spearheaded by #30 Tyler Barr, #75 Jason Terry, and Lawson & Lawson. QB Franklin took a knee twice and that was it. The Indians rushed for 38 carries for 219 yards, two touchdowns, and one 2-pt. conversion, plus one reception for 25 yards totaling 244 yards of total offense.
