Scoring Summary

Indians 16 12 0 0 28
Polk Co. 0 0 0 0 0
The Indians were hitting on all eight cylinders, collectively and individually. The Indian offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage and the game. This dominance allowed #30 Tyler Barr to rush for three touchdowns on runs of four, nine, and 39 yards.

The defensive line didn’t do too badly for themselves either. The Wildcats were threatening late in the second stanza. #48 Alex Lennox went down with an injury. In fact the game was halted as an ambulance was dispatched, Alex walked off the field with the aid of his Grandfather (the injury wasn’t that serious, a separated shoulder). Now during all this down time, the ‘Cats got all fired up. It was third down and short from the six yard line. A big push by the Indian “D” disrupted the play, and caused a fumble. In a mad scramble, #43 Aaron Lawson came up with that loose ball! First and 10, Indians with the ball on the three yard line. There was also only 0:03 seconds left before half time. Instead of taking a knee, Head Coach David Matlock, called a fly route. Quarterback #4 Zach Franklin dropped back in his own end zone, and aired it out. Running under the football with a full head of steam, was #33 Tommy Brown. All the Wildcats saw were the bottoms of his cleats, 97 yards later, Brown was standing alone in the end zone! This pitch and catch sets a new Quarterback Club record for the longest touchdown pass. It’s now half time.

The Third quarter passed uneventful, as neither team scored.

The Indians rushed for 183 yards on 22 attempts, three touchdowns, and two 2-point conversions. QB #4 Zach Franklin passed 97 yards to #33 Tommy Brown for a touchdown. Total offense was 280 yards. In only three quarters, the Loudon Indians (8-1, #1 seed) 28, Polk Co. Juniors zip.
