The Sequoyah Conference football jamboree was held this past Saturday (8-14-04) at the Sequoyah High School football stadium. The Loudon Quarterback Club played the Polk Co. Wildcats. The Crickets, Hoppers, Mustangs, and Indians each got one 15 minute quarter with the clock being stopped sparingly. Our time block began 3:00 pm; it was a beautiful day for football.

The Indians held their own against a good Polk Co. squad. A stalemate was in the works. The Indians were in striking distance of the goal line when three straight illegal procedure penalties pushed them back. An injury to #33 Tommy Brown stopped the action for about 30 minutes. With about 1:40 left on the clock, neither team could muster a score. New Indian Head Coach David Matlock will have his squad ready for the home opener. (Note Tommy Brown strained his knee, with rest he’ll soon be ready to go).
