The Panther’s won the toss and deferred until the second half. The potent Hopper offense put together a nine play drive, but stalled out on downs. Lenoir City was three and out. Now we’re getting somewhere, #20 Brandon “The Speed Demon” Tallent motored in untouched from the 35 yard line. The Panthers fumbled on their first play, recovering that loose football for the Loudon Hoppers was #54 Zack Johnson (of Team Johnson). #36 Jake “The Snake” Mourfield went right to work. Gaining five yards on first down, then Mourfield got loose on a 30 yard touchdown blast. The Panthers were again three and out against the stifling Big Red Defense. Tallent could not be stopped, as he rang up a 39 yard dinger. The 2-point conversion was added by #92 Josh Taylor. After yet another L.C. punt, time was ticking away in the first half. On the last play before intermission, QB #3 Justin Franklin connected with Tallent for a 32 yard pass completion. The score at half time was 20 to zip, your Loudon Hoppers.
