Scoring Summary
  1st 2nd 3rd 4th Final
Crickets 0 0 0 6 6
Vonore 0 8 8 8 8
The Loudon Crickets started out on offense, however it was easy to determine that it was going to be a low scoring, defensive affair. In fact the Devils held us to just one first down the entire first half of play. But, your Loudon Crickets can play a little “D” themselves. The game sea-sawed back and forth, with neither team able to gain an advantage. With the aid of penalties, Vonore was able to put together a drive, late in the second period. The half would end with the Blue Devils leading 8-0. In the second half, your Loudon Crickets keep plugging away, the third stanza ticked away much like the first half. Finally late in the fourth quarter, some yellow flags started falling our way. The Crickets put together a drive that was consummated by one of Jackson’s patented long runs for a touchdown. #24 “Double J” Joshua “Action” Jackson took off like a rocket, and touched down 78 yards later in the end zone. Now the score is 8-6, Devils; time for the crucial conversion attempt to force overtime. The fake to Jackson, the counter to #8 Jack “The Iron Man” Nichols II, he bounces it wide left. Vonore gives good pursuit, and strings the play out, until reinforcements arrive. “The Iron Man” is stopped just short of the goal line. The defense was led by #46 Jake “Unit 1” Mashburn with ten knock-downs, #35 Dillon “Cucumber” Russell added nine tackles, and #6 Macklin “The Mac Attack” Russell claimed seven stops. The Crickets had 17 rushes for 136 yards and one touchdown. In a heartbreaker, the Crickets lose for the second consecutive week, 8-6.
