The Loudon Crickets wanted the football first. On the first play from scrimmage, #6 Macklin “The Mac Attack” Russell took it to the house from 65 yards out. In fact “Big Mac” would ring up two more touchdowns in the first quarter, on rushes of 70 and 46 yards respectively.

#39 Travis Tomei’, put L.C. on the scoreboard in the first quarter as well, with a 46 yard TD scamper.

After the Panther punt at the beginning of the second period, Loudon was on the move again. A 13 play drive ate up just about the entire clock and covered 55 yards. #34 Isaiah Lowe rushed nine times, and pounded across goal line from the three yard line. At the half, the score is 26 to 8, in favor of your Loudon Crickets.

In the third stanza, Lenoir City and Loudon swapped punts. But on the second play of the fourth quarter, the Panther’s #39 Travis Tomei’, was at it again. Churning up real estate in route to a 70 yard touchdown, Tomei’ displayed his break away speed! The Crickets were not finished with the Panther scoreboard yet. #8 Jack “The Ironman” Nichols II posted a 17 yard touchdown, to complete the scoring.

The defense was led by #33 Triston Ridings with five takedowns, #98 Noah Hughes had four knockdowns, and #23 Chase Lane posted three stops.

The Crickets rushed for 349 yards on 38 attempts for five touchdowns and one 2-point conversion. For the Panthers, #39 Travis Tomei’ was the bright spot.

The Loudon Crickets (9-2) earn the #2 seed and will play the #3 seed Greenback Crickets (9-2) at McMinn Central High School in Athens at 4:00pm this Saturday.
