The field was getting treacherous and becoming a morass. That didn't seem to bother the Mustangs though. #3 Jake Brown tied the game up 6-6 at the half. Head Coach Scott Newman gave an inspirational half time speech to motivate his team. The 'Cats wouldn't go away and jockeyed for field position. It looked like the game was going into overtime. #7 Eric Newman recovered a Sweetwater fumble deep in their own territory. With 17 seconds left in regulation, #27 Wade Plemons powered into the end zone from the three yard line. Touchdown! and game. The offensive player of the game was #39 Jeffery Nichols and #27 Wade Plemons earned the defensive honors. The ‘Stangs gained 147 yards rushing on 38 attempts and 24 yards passing on two receptions for 171 yards of total offense. The Mustangs (5-1) claim the victory, 12 to 6.
