The Mustangs continued their winning ways. It was eight to nothing at the end of the first period on a 60 yard TD and 2-pt. conv by #10 Nick Brown. The ’Stangs added six points with a #27 Wade Plemons 17 yard touchdown, to go in the locker room up 14 to 6. The third quarter went scoreless. A nice time eating drive was capped off by going to the “Jumbo Set”. Big #55, David Lee Haskins bullied in to the end zone from the five yard line. The same play worked to perfection on the 2-pt. conversion. All Athens could muster was the 34 yard TD in the first quarter. A very animated Head Coach Scott Newman praised his squad for taking the fight to the Red Raiders all day long. The ‘Stangs gained 237 yards on 26 carries.
