Crickets vs. Athens 2003

Crickets 0 - Ahtens 6

Are the Crickets a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde team? I’ll have to admit that it was one of the strangest games I’ve ever seen. Gone were the long break-a-way runs from last week, in their place were fumbles on just about every play. And speaking of plays, our Loudon Crickets managed only 14 offensive plays the entire game? What happened was the Red Raiders came up to the line of scrimmage and just stood there. Their coach went down the line to each player lining them up and showing them what to do, the clock was eaten up in the process. This went on the entire game. We had just 4 yards of offense in the first half, but were only down six to nothing. That score, a 48 yard romp in the second quarter by Athens would be the only points of the game.

    Offense:
  • #24 Brandon Burnette: 6 carries for 1 yard
  • #3 Jordan Davis: 5 carries for 4 yards
  • #2 Shandon Lyle: 3 carries for 13 yards
    Defense:
  • #1 Roger Waddell: 3 tackles
  • #24 Brandon Burnette: 3 tackles
  • #35 Jack Nichols: 1 tackle
  • #2 Shandon Lyle: 3 tacklesK
  • #3 Jordan Davis: 2 tackles
  • #7 Macklyn Russell: 4 tackles
  • #33 Justice Choate: 1 tackle
  • #58 Brady Isbill: 1 tackle & a fumble recovery

Final score, 6-0, Athens Red Raiders
